The Palms Turks and Caicos

Jezerinac Group served as the design engineer for structural upgrades at The Palms, a luxury resort in Turks and Caicos, delivering enhancements that integrated with the resort’s existing environment.

Collaborating with Edge of Architecture, Inc., the project included the conversion of an existing sunken, open-air “plunge” lounge into a fully enclosed kitchen with a swim-up bar, requiring the design of new foundations, walls, and roof structure. Over the kitchen, bar, and pool, a 3,100 SF shade canopy, constructed from aluminum framing and woven fabric strips, provides both functional coverage and architectural appeal.

A standout feature of the upgrades is the beachside “tulip” bar, characterized by a tapered circular center column that increases in diameter at the top, supporting a 1,350 SF shade canopy made of aluminum framing and woven fabric.

Additional improvements include the design of 3,400 SF of elevated wood decks for bar and dining spaces, bearing on concrete foundations and complemented by canvas shade structures, as well as a 300 SF bathroom facility constructed with concrete block walls, wood roof framing, and a ground-supported slab and foundation.
